　　《中国社会科学》2008年全年6期，所发表论文大体可以分为10个学科类别，其中可归属“中国特色社会主义理论研究”的论文有10篇，哲学20篇，经济学15篇，法学14篇，文学13篇，历史学11篇，社会学6篇，政治学4篇，传播学1篇，人类学1篇，共计发文95篇。

　　95篇文章的作者来自44个学术机构，其中发文最多的机构是刊物的主办单位—中国社会科学院，发文14篇。除中共中央党校、广东省委党校、中共中央编译局、中央文献研究室、国务院研究室、上海社会科学院外，余下的发文机构均来自高等学校，共有37个单位。

　　来自大学机构的发文数量统计如下：北京大学、复旦大学、清华大学分别发文7篇；中国人民大学6.5篇；北京师范大学4篇；吉林大学、南开大学、武汉大学分别发文3篇；黑龙江大学、华南师范大学、南京大学、首都师范大学、香港中文大学各为2篇；华中师范大学1.7篇；浙江大学1.5篇；东北财经大学、对外经济贸易大学、广州大学、河南大学、湖南大学、华东师范大学、华东政法大学、暨南大学、辽宁大学、山东大学、山东师范大学、山西财经大学、山西大学、上海大学、沈阳师范大学、苏州科技大学、浙江师范大学、中国农业大学、中山大学各1篇；上海交通大学、中国政法大学各0.5篇；中南财经政法大学0.3篇。

　　全年在该刊物上发文两篇的作者有2人，分别是来自吉林大学哲学基础理论研究中心的孙正聿和香港中文大学政治与公共行政系的王绍光。王绍光兼任清华大学公共管理学院长江讲座教授，如果把他的论文归到清华名下，则清华大学2008年度在《中国社会科学》上的发文篇数超过其他，为最多的高校。

　　另一有趣的情形是，发文各位3篇的学校学科还都集中在特定的学科，吉大、武大两家的3篇大抵都是哲学类的，而来自南开的3篇则都是关于文学的。

     截至今天，在SCI （Science Citation Index）内， 以“xiamen univ.”作为Address的关键词，并且限定文章的正式出版时间为2009年，查询得知，厦门大学师生2009年1月正式出版发表的文章中，被SCI收录的文章数为52篇。（说明：其中出版时间没写明一月份的不列入统计，出版时间介于“Jan-Feb，2009”的列入一月份的统计。）。具体可查看PDF详细情况。
